Factory Tour FAQs

Everything you need to know to make the most of your Winnebago Factory Tour.

Are children allowed on the tours?

Because tours involve production environments, minors must be 16 years old and accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Are there steps on the tour?

Yes, there is a good deal of walking on the tour—including two sets of stairs on the Class A & C Motorhome Complex Tour. You must be fully-ambulatory, no assisting devices required, and able to complete the entire tour to go on the bus.

Can I bring my pet?

Pets, service and support animals are welcome inside our Visitors Center and Factory Service Center. However, for safety purposes they are not allowed on our Factory Tours.

Will the tour be inside or outside?

The tours are conducted inside. You will be walking short distances from the bus to the buildings.

Can I park my RV in the Visitors Center parking lot?

Absolutely! We have a large day-time parking lot that can accommodate RVs and cars.

Am I able to spend the night in my RV?

We have some overnight parking spaces with electrical hookups across the street on our Winnebago Rally Grounds. You must receive a pass from the Visitors Center prior to parking. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Water and dump stations are also available on the grounds. Additional overflow camping is available at the city-owned, Pammel Park Campground on Highway 69 for a minimal fee.

Can I take pictures while on the tour?

We know it’s cool stuff, but no video or photography is allowed on the tour.

Can I only go for part of the tour?

Changing production schedules means not all factory complex areas are always in full operation. Pre-registering helps ensure you are informed of cancellations in a timely manner.

What happens on a factory tour and what will I see?

All tours start at the Visitors Center. For the Class A & C Motorhome Complex Factory Tour, you are bussed across the street and given an overview of various buildings on the grounds. On the Camper Van Tour, you are driven approximately 15 miles to our Lake Mills assembly facility to see different stages of a camper van being assembled.
