Quinebagos Local Chapter by Pat Kane

The October campout was held at Boston Minuteman Campground from the 8th to 12th. There were eleven member coaches in attendance. The first campers arrived on Thursday to start the campout. It was a beautiful fall day for traveling. Arriving at the campground we were escorted to our sites. That evening we all met for a campfire. As usual we exchanged stories of our recent travels and families. On Friday, we enjoyed walks around the campground and greeted our fellow WIT club members arriving for the weekend. Some folks headed out to bike on local trails. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on the number people gathering, we had two adjacent sites with campfires so folks visited between the two sites. Saturday was another glorious New England fall day. It was a busy day of hiking, biking, bean bag tossing, and walking the campground for some while others opted to sit around the campfire. We enjoyed a delicious apple dessert in keeping with the fall theme thanks to the Murphy's. Quinebagos held their annual meeting and elected officers. Congratulations to you all. We spent time planning for next year's activities. Sunday was another great day. Most of the day was spent with everyone participating in a bocci ball tournament. For many folks it was the first time they had played. The evening was spent around our two campfires. Monday arrived and so did the time for us to pack up and head our different ways. We all agreed that the weekend was a great success and everyone had a good time. This was a nice way to end out club's camping season. Wishing you all safe travels.
