WA: Rainier Ramblers

A Message from the Rainier Rambler President

Greetings Ramblers!

A big thank you to Rod and Sandra for hosting our August Rally at Glen Ayr RV Resort in Hoodsport. A few of us came a few days early and some stayed an extra day to enjoy this beautiful place. We had beautiful weather, great comradery and a beautiful view of the Hood Canal out our windshields. Let’s Get Ready to Ramble . . . Robyn and Jerry will be hosting our September Rally at North Whidbey RV Park near Oak Harbor. Then, a few of us will extend the outing with a trip over the mountains to Winthrop. Some will return home from Winthrop, but others will continue into Idaho. Our plan is to return to Washington, just in time for the October rally in Cle Elum. It’s not too late to join us for some, or all, of the extended outing. It you are interested, let me know.

After Outing by Sandra & Rod Wilson August 11-14, Glen Ayr RV Resort, Hoodsport, WA

August outing started Tuesday at Glen Ayre, but four rigs came early for hiking and sight- seeing. The weather was outstanding throughout our stay. There were eight coaches: JD & Kathy Allen, John & Florence Cook, Greg & Lynn Dickey, Jerry & Robyn Gleim, Joe & Carol Robel, Ed & Sharon Stanford, Jim & Candie Storer and Rod & Sandra Wilson. After setting up, everyone got out chairs and enjoyed catching up. One coach didn't get in til Wednesday due to a slide problem. After happy hour some went out to dinner the rest ate in. Wednesday several people went hiking and sight-seeing. After happy hour we enjoyed heavy appetizers, which is always good. Thursday brought another beautiful day with more hiking and sight-seeing. John & Karen Gerrits came in and brought Tom and Cindi who are buying the Gerrits’ coach and may join our club. That evening we had sloppy joes with buns and chips along with many great side dishes, which were enjoyed outside in the great weather. Friday the hosts provided muffins and hard boiled eggs and everyone brought fruit for the bowl. The drawing was won by JD.

Thanks for a great outing!
