Winnebago Community Connections You Don’t Want to Miss!
Learn more about Winnebago GoLife Community groups and meetups.

By: GoLife Staff

Since the first Winnebago club was formed in the late 1960s, owners have been making lasting connections through their shared love of RVing. What started as one club and a strong desire for community has grown to dozens of owner groups planning in-person meetups each year and even more offering support and friendship in online forums.

This year, as the Camp Winnebago On the Road team continues to join in on the amazing owner-organized meetups within our GoLife community, we are reminded of the rich history of these groups. We greatly appreciate the many owners who dedicate their time and energy to help plan meetups that foster a sense of belonging and embody the care-free spirit of RVing. It is inspiring to see the level of support and camaraderie that takes place across our passionate community!

Creating a Lasting Legacy: Location-Based Winnebago Owner Groups

If you want to learn some of the most well-tested RVing tips, many of Winnebago’s location-based groups have been meeting for fifty years or more! These are the clubs that are to thank for establishing the Winnebago community’s legacy of being welcoming, supportive, and a lot of fun. Even if you aren’t able to join the club and attend regularly, these groups are a wealth of knowledge, have mastered the art of the potluck, and have some of the best RVing stories to share around the campfire—so be sure to check the Winnebago meetup map to see if you can join one on your next RV trip.

The location-based owner clubs are open to Winnebago owners of any RV type and can be joined by reaching out directly to the group’s point of contact or through their website. Many also have Facebook groups or monthly e-newsletters to stay in touch.

In July, the Winnebago team was excited to join one of our long-time owner groups, the Iowa Winnie Hawks, in Britt, IA, to share some Flying W flare and take part in their joyful celebration of their shared love of RVing. Everyone enjoyed playing games, having meals together, and even a fun group craft activity—making mini barn quilts with Rhonda’s Creations.

Overall, the vibe was fantastic! People were dancing, engaged in conversation, and of course, the pop-up bar the Winnebago team hosted was very well received.

The next location-based meetup that the Camp Winnebago On the Road team will be attending will take place from October 16-19 in Mineola, TX, with the Texas W Club. Learn more about this meetup here.

Model-Specific Groups Offer Support, Education, and So Much More!

As the options for Winnebago travel trailers and motorhomes expanded over the decades, so did the desire for model-specific owner groups. These groups have become especially popular in recent years with the ability to easily connect online (in Facebook groups or other forums) to share insights, tips, and ideas. Owners rave about the support and help they receive in their RV-specific Winnebago owner group. (Read more about that here.) However, it is at the in-person meetups when members of these groups feel the most appreciation for their supportive community.

Many of Winnebago’s model-specific owner groups host at least one large-scale event each year with great continuing education opportunities, mod tours, games, and plenty of time to make meaningful connections with other owners. Since certain types of RVs often attract similar buyers, it is common for the owners in these RV-specific groups to realize they have many similar interests. However, even if they don’t, they all know they have one shared goal: making the most of their RV life in their chosen Winnebago!

From Winnebago Revel owners who are eager for shared off-road adventures to Winnebago EKKO owners wanting to learn how to best use their RV’s features (while having a very fun time together), there are many great Winnebago model-specific owner meetups taking place each year. You can see the complete list of groups here.

Multiple members of the Winnebago Towables team recently joined the passionate WinTows group of Winnebago travel trailer owners in Middlebury, IN, for educational sessions (including a tour of the Winnebago Towables plant!), live entertainment, meals together, and fun gear giveaways. Many of the 60 attendees are already planning to return next year for this well-loved meetup!

Next up, the Camp Winnebago On the Road team will be joining the fun at Camp EKKO! See the other events the team will be attending this year here.
