How to Plan a Cycling-Focused RV Trip
Logistical tips for finding bike trails and securing your gear.
Cycling enthusiasts appreciate that RV travel offers a safe way to transport their bikes and a comfortable base to relax in after rides or competitions. If you are new to combining RVing with cycling and want to know how to best plan your trips, James and Stef of The Fit RV have some great tips to share in the video below!
Logistics to Consider When Planning an RV Bike Trip
Planning a cycling-focused RV trip necessitates more consideration. Of course, a top concern is the safety of your bikes and the best way to transport them. Luckily, Winnebago has multiple RVs that are ideal for storing bikes inside (see more here), but there are also RV bike racks that can work well – just be sure to check that the weight limit will be sufficient for your bicycles.
You will also want to consider how close you will be camping to the trail you want to ride, where to leave your RV if there is no camping close by, and how to prepare for riding in a new place.

The video explains James and Stef's process for planning RV cycling trips, including which apps and gear they use. They have been combining RV trips with cycling adventures for almost 15 years and are excited to share some of the lessons they learned the hard way, so you don't have to!
