Winnebago Launches New GoLife Owner Community & Savings Program
Learn more about the GoLife Community and GoLife Perks.

By: GoLife Staff

We know the Winnebago owner community is one of the best in the industry. Our owners go out of their way to help one another, offering support – and sometimes a driveway – to their fellow Winnebago owners. When you buy a Winnebago, you instantly become part of this community.

Over the course of many decades, Winnebago’s owner club, Winnebago International Travelers (more commonly known as WIT), has been a robust club with a strong support structure offered by Winnebago. More recently, a lot has changed not only with the program, but also with consumer expectations.

With the onset of technology, the growth in social networking and behavior changes due to the recent pandemic, the preferences for how new owners want to gather has evolved, and at the same time, our owner community continues to become more and more diverse.

Winnebago is committed to supporting our owner community and re-envisioning how we enhance the owner experience, what we call the WinnebagoLife.

WinnebagoLife is made up of several components, including our:

  • GoLife Community: where Winnebago shines a spotlight on all the amazing groups that make up our owner community.
  • GoLife Blog: where Winnebago owners share how they use their RVs.
  • GoLife Perks: where special offers enable Winnebago owners to go more, for less.

GoLife Community: Never Go Alone

To ensure all Winnebago owners know they belong to this community the day they take delivery of their Winnebago towable or motorhome product, we’re moving away from a formal structure and instead to an inclusive community where the only barrier to entry is owning a Winnebago product.

Members of the Winnebago Product team participated in a Q&A at the recent Amana Mods, Maintenance & Merriment Meetup for compact coaches in May.

To do this, we are making changes to what is known as WIT today. Going forward, WIT groups will roll into the GoLife Community, along with our social groups like those that exist on Facebook. Here’s what this means:

  • Membership fees and requirements: Up until now, owners had to pay an annual fee to be part of the WIT community and join WIT groups or meetups. Going forward, there will no longer be a membership fee associated with our owner community. All who own a Winnebago motorhome or towable are automatically part of our family and welcome to participate in groups and owner meetups.
  • Community standards: WIT groups have historically had to adhere to bylaws or guidelines from Winnebago. These will go away, and those WIT groups can decide how they want to operate going forward. The only requirement to receive support for meetups for all groups, which includes WIT and social groups, is to follow our community standards, which are available on the GoLife Community page of our website.
  • Camp Winnebago (Previously GNR): All WIT clubs and chapters are still able to park together in the rows at Camp Winnebago as they have in the past. Social groups are also allowed to park together.

Promoting Our Community

To better support and promote our owner community, we’ve updated our website to create a new GoLife Community page that includes a calendar of upcoming meetups and rallies, as well as a list of groups you can join, including groups based on location, specific model or areas of interest.

If you’d like to attend a meetup or join a group, check on the calendar and group lists on the site and either reach out to the main point of contact or request to join the Facebook group. Many of the Facebook groups are private, which means you’ll need to request to join, answer the questions provided by the admins, and wait for the admin team to review your request.

Note: We’ve tried to capture as many of the social groups that exist, but we know there are some we’re missing. If you’re an admin for a group that would like to be included on our site, complete this online form and a member of our team will be in touch.

Winnebago hosted multiple owner meetups at the Florida RV Supershow in Tampa in January.

GoLife Blog: Imagine How You’ll Go

For years, we have shared stories from our owners about how they use their Winnebago RVs. Going forward, we’ll continue to share tips, insights, and product overviews on the blog, but we’ll also share more stories about all that’s happening within our community. For example, we recently featured a writeup about the second annual Amana Mods, Maintenance & Merriment Meetup.

GoLife Perks: Go More, For Less

We all are fans of discounts; they enhance the ownership experience. While this used to live within WIT, we are now launching a new program that will include the same benefits we already offer – along with a few exciting new ones – for the same price of $39.95 per year.

This new program is called GoLife Perks. All existing WIT members have been rolled into a GoLife Perks membership and will maintain access to those benefits through the term of their current membership. When the existing membership term ends, they’ll then have the option to renew. Anyone interested in signing up for a GoLife Perks membership can do so from our website.

Like we mentioned, members will continue to receive the same benefits they have in the past, like the discount at the Winnebago Factory Service Center, along with new discounts from some of the top names in the industry, including KOA, Harvest Hosts, Passport America, and EcoFlow.

We believe these new discounts offer something for everyone. One of the joys of owning a Winnebago RV is that you can go where you feel. We hope these new offerings make it easier to do that.

Visit the GoLife Perks page on our website to learn more about all the offers available. Our team is working to include even more benefits, so you can expect to hear about new offerings being added throughout the year.

This new approach was built using feedback we’ve received from all across our owner community. We believe these changes will enable more Winnebago owners to seek out and join our communities. We can’t wait to share more stories about our owner community and the awesome people who make it so great.

Great news!!!! If there is no longer a membership fee, why is there a fee when I go to the registration page? Safe Travels everyone.

Great question! There is no longer a fee to be part of the GoLife Community. Everyone who owns a Winnebago product is automatically part of our family and can check out the calendar of upcoming owner meetups or explore our lists of groups to join. However, there is an annual fee for the savings program, GoLife Perks, which is currently $39.95. If you have any additional questions or need further clarification, email us at [email protected].

All in the Winnebago community....... I assume this includes Grand Design and Neumar owners as well, correct?
User commented on July 24, 2023 3:41 PM
Great question! Our Winnebago Industries friends, both Grand Design and Newmar, have their own clubs for their owners. That being said, our owner groups can allow non-Winnebago motorhomes and towables products to attend their meetups, if they choose. The decision is up to each group. The GoLife Perks membership is only available to Winnebago Outdoors motorhomes and towables.

I just became a member of WIT approximately 2-3 weeks ago right before the Rally and paid the annual fee. Do I now have to pay an additional $39 bucks a year after I just did a couple weeks ago? A bit confused on how this "rolls" into Golife Perks, or is it completely separate to get discounts?
User commented on July 24, 2023 3:37 PM
Our apologies if the language was confusing – “rolled over” means your existing WIT membership automatically becomes a GoLife Perks membership. If you have any questions about your membership, please send us an email at [email protected].

Will we get a new membership card to replace the WIT card?
User commented on July 24, 2023 3:38 PM
Yes! You’ll receive a welcome letter along with a wallet-sized membership card that can replace your WIT card. It should be arriving at the address we have on file in the coming weeks.

All positive steps...good show!

Great news! So, is there something one needs to do to “join” go-life and receive updates, or are owners automatically included?
User commented on July 24, 2023 3:39 PM
The easiest way to stay up-to-date on all that’s happening in the community is to subscribe to the GoLife email newsletter, which includes owner stories, event announcements, and meetup recaps! To do so, fill out the form at the bottom of any page on our website, including the GoLife Community page: https://www.winnebago.com/owners/golife-community. Then be sure to regularly visit that page to check out upcoming events or search for groups you might be interested in joining, and watch your inbox for the monthly GoLife Blog e-newsletter.

Where is the login page for existing WIT members, and how do you obtain the free KOA membership?
User commented on August 14, 2023 4:21 PM
Thanks for your question! WIT members are now GoLife Perks members and while we don’t have an online portal for you to log into at this time, you can email [email protected] to request the members’ only website and PIN used to redeem the free KOA Rewards membership. All WIT members should have received an email with a link to the member guide, which includes instructions for activating all of the offers, and will receive a brochure with this same information in the mail in the coming weeks. If you have any additional questions about the GoLife Perks program, please email [email protected].
