10 Highlights of the Winnebago Journey

Here are some of the top highlights of the Winnebago Journey 34N that both long-time and brand-new RVers will really appreciate:

1. Industry Leading Quiet Ride

The increased torsional stiffness of the diesel-powered Freightliner XCM Chassis with integrated Maxum II foundation offers a smooth driving experience and an industry leading quiet ride. The front end of the Journey features a 3-degree taper design on both sides to help reduce drag and wind noise. There is also foam in the front of the chassis to reduce noise, plus the cab door latches in two places to make sure it is pulled in tight and doesn’t rattle when driving.

The rounded corners of the cab are both visually appealing and helpful with improving the quietness of the cab area while driving. Plus, the automotive exterior appearance and cockpit styling of the Winnebago Journey has a modern aesthetic that will turn heads as you pull into your campsite.

2. Better Visibility & Modern Safety Features

LED headlights provide superior road lighting and the high side mirror mounts help for better peripheral viewing. The low-height dashboard and minimal pillars on each side of the windshield also improve visibility. Plus, backup cameras with multiple viewpoint options enable you to back in with confidence.

3. Comfortable Front Cab for Improved Driving Experience

A generous amount of room is available for entry and exit of the cab area. There is even a small slideout awning above the door to provide cover from rain when getting in and out of the cab.

The driver’s window slides open to offer convenient access to fresh air. For storage, there are overhead cabinets, a phone pocket, and a driver’s side lower storage pocket to conveniently store items you need to have close at hand on driving days.

4. Best-in-Class Exterior Storage

The exterior compartments are industry leading in both size and functionality. The storage in the heated cargo bays is 30 inches in height and has soft-close doors that open with a push of a button to make accessing items more convenient. The pass-through storage also allows for maximum use of the space.

You can even lock the storage bays from your phone when away from your RV. Plus, the Winnebago team made sure there is a backup option to open the electric cargo bays if for some reason you lose power.

5. Luxury Amenities

The Winnebago Journey has smart details throughout that offer a more relaxing RVing experience. Some of the most exciting amenities include:

  • Dishwasher
  • Residential Refrigerator
  • Central Vac (to easily vacuum the entire RV!)
  • Optional Hydronic Heated Floors
  • Residential Toilet with 2-Level Push-Button Flush Command
  • Stackable Washer/Dryer Option in Bedroom
  • Large Roof-Integrated Awning with Lights and Wind Sensors

You may also appreciate the flat floor throughout, the slideout that blends in to create a more sleek look, and blinds that are hidden in the cabinets when not in use to offer more natural light. This RV really does feel like a rolling home!

6. Flexible Seating in the Living Area

With an option for sofa or theater seating, you get to decide how you will lounge in your Winnebago Journey. Plus, you can also add optional “chottomans” (ottomans that turn into chairs) for additional seating.

The Glide & Dine table with chairs allows for flexible seating when eating meals or working. Simply slide the table and move the chairs as needed to suit your needs – from a classic dining table setup to an L-shaped office desk!

7. Largest Class A RV Shower

You’ll have plenty of room to clean up after a day of adventuring in the Winnebago Journey’s large one-piece fiberglass shower space. It also includes a small seat as well as a rain shower head with wand and a spout for filling up water jugs, etc.

Plus, the Aqua-Hot water heater allows for continuous hot water supply, so you don’t have to rush through your showers.

8. Flexible Bedroom Storage

You will have plenty of room to organize your clothes and belongings in the bedroom with nine drawers in a dresser-style storage area under the TV, a large closet with flexible organization system, and more storage options throughout (including room for CPAP storage in the nightstand).

The bedroom even includes a full-length mirror as well as one in the nearby hallway to make getting ready more convenient.

9. Largest Walk-Around King Bed in Class

When it is time for bed, you can easily walk around to your preferred side before enjoying the custom foam mattress made in-house by Winnebago. The king bed also features an integrated powered incline headrest. The bedroom also includes a fan, nightstand storage, and light controls over the bed.

For privacy, you also have a rolling door to close off the bedroom that locks into place on driving days.

10. Convenient Management of RV Systems

The Winnebago Control panel offers integrated, easy, and convenient access to all major coach systems. It is also available to use from your phone so you can lock your bay doors or turn on the air conditioning when away from your RV!

Would like to see the Grand Tour come back. I have owned 4 Winnebagos, 2 gas and 2 diesel. Need to bring back the 45 ft Grand Tour. We love the 2017 we have but won’t consider buying new again until Winnebago brings back something comparable.

We have the 2023 Journey 34N and love the design features. No screens in the cab area and superior view out the front chairs is fantastic. An all-electric coach is different from all of the other RV's we've had in the past. The "chottomans" are great multi-functional comfortable units. The Winnebago app to monitor and control the coach is well done.

“Luxury Class A RV” and it has a fiberglass shower? Real luxury is real tile.

Like the new front end / cap / windshield treatment. It has been awhile since seeing a contemporary front end that didn't look somewhat out of place. Very personal subjective opinion, there! Some of the features are mentioned as "innovative", when in truth several are standard on our 2005 Winnebago Vectra 40KD, which we have owned and enjoyed for over a decade. Very much like the larger capacity water and waste water tanks, disappearing window blinds treatment, etc., on this Journey. We have owned 4 Class A RVs, three Winnebago and one Pace Arrow. Also, two were / are diesel pushers and two were gasoline powered. We are starting to look into upgrading to a new or newer model Winnebago Class A Diesel RV. Similar to others have mentioned, waiting on seeing a 38 foot or longer version. Thank you.
