Top Winnebago Micro Minnie Features for Adventurous Families
Nine reasons this travel trailer makes camping easier than ever.

By: Dom Carson

When we started looking for a smaller travel trailer that could handle both family camping trips and my solo adventures for work, we had a pretty specific list of things we needed. Our towable RV needed to be lightweight, easy to tow, have enough space to actually enjoy camping (not just survive it), and something tough enough to take into the mountains without worry.

Enter the Winnebago Micro Minnie 2100BH—and honestly, it’s been everything we hoped for and more. After lots of trips with and without the family, here’s why I’m still completely obsessed with it four years in.

1. Perfect size for national parks and tight campsites.

Our Winnebago Micro Minnie is just about 21-feet long, which has been absolutely perfect for us. We never have to worry about whether we'll fit into national park campgrounds or smaller forest sites. It makes last-minute camping trips so much easier because we know we can almost always find a spot without stressing about trailer size.

2. Easy, confident towing.

The 7-foot width and double-axle setup make a huge difference in how it feels on the road. The Winnebago Micro Minnie is super stable at highway speeds and so much easier to back up, even into tricky campsites. I would never drive our truck while hauling our old trailer, and I certainly would never take it camping by myself, but now that’s different.

I will happily share the driving duties and I even feel confident enough to take the trailer out if I have back-to-back elopements to photograph in the mountains, or if I want to take our daughter on a solo camping trip. It’s given me so much freedom and I love it!

3. Spacious interior without the bulk.

Even though the Winnebago Micro Minnie is a smaller trailer, the slideout gives us a ton of extra space inside. Honestly, it feels just as roomy as our old 30-foot trailer—but way easier to tow and park. It's amazing how much more livable it feels with just that extra few feet of width when the slide is out.

4. Great floorplan for family camping!

While we were trailer shopping, we saw soooo many different floorplans and none of them really hit until we walked into our 2100BH. It gave us a nice-sized bed right in the front and then bunks in the back next to the bathroom and a slideout dinette that we could even turn into another bed if our daughter brings a friend along.

5. Ready for off-grid adventures.

Having the solar package has been a huge win for us. It keeps our batteries charged while we're boondocking, so we can camp in beautiful, remote places without worrying about running out of power. It’s perfect for those work trips when I need to stay off-grid but still keep everything charged up.

6. More room for family meals.

One of my unexpected favorite features? The fridge! It's three-cubic-feet bigger than the one we had in our previous trailer, which means we can pack enough food for a full week of camping without constantly restocking. It’s a small thing that makes a big difference when you’re camping with a kid (and you don't want to live off granola bars).

I love to pre-make a bunch of easy meals and snacks (currently fixated on pasta salad), so we can have all the yummy food while out and I never have to worry about having the room for it all.

7. Tons of storage to be ready to roll at a moment’s notice.

We’re very much last-minute trip people, and the storage compartments in the Winnebago Micro Minnie make it so easy to just pack a few fresh things and go. There’s a ton of room both inside and in the exterior pass-through storage, so we can keep all our gear ready and loaded—chairs, outdoor toys, hiking gear, our daughter’s bike—without it feeling cluttered.

8. Powered awning, slide, and power jacks for fast, easy setup.

Another huge bonus? Everything is electric. The power awning, power slide, and power stabilizer jacks make setting up and tearing down camp incredibly fast and easy. Less time fiddling with setup means more time enjoying where we are. It's exactly what you want when you’re squeezing in a weekend trip or pulling into camp late after a full day with a toddler on your hip.

9. Built tough for real adventures.

From the durable construction to the fully enclosed underbelly, the Winnebago Micro Minnie feels built for real camping. We've taken it into the mountains, through unexpected storms, and down dusty backroads—and it always feels solid and reliable. It’s comforting knowing we have a trailer that's as ready for adventure as we are.

Final Thoughts on Why We Love the Winnebago Micro Minnie

At the end of the day, the Winnebago Micro Minnie gives us the freedom to travel, explore, and enjoy the outdoors without stress. Whether it’s a solo mountain work trip or a spontaneous family camping weekend, it’s easy to tow, easy to set up, and packed with everything we need.

It’s our cozy little home away from home—and honestly, I can’t imagine a better trailer for the way we travel.
