Recently, the GoLife Team talked with Nel Filliger, Founder/CEO, and Heather Adams, Marketing Director, of Fantasy RV Tours to learn more about what you can expect during one of their events and what they have planned for 2022!

What Can You Expect During a Fantasy RV Tour?

Fantasy RV Tours organizes five to six Winnebago owner adventures every year - including caravans and rallies. These are a great opportunity to travel with other Winnebago owners and offer peace of mind when visiting new areas. 

For rallies, you can expect catered meals, a hospitality tent for socialization, games, and organized tours of the area. These are larger events that take place at one destination and can have around 100 other RVers.

The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is a popular rally event that RVers look forward to each year. The 2021 event was a huge success, and many Winnebago owners also went on the Southwest caravan tour before as well, so they got to spend a total of 37 fun-filled days together.

The caravans usually only have around 24 RVs, are much longer (average 30 days), and feature multiple destinations. These usually begin with an orientation and welcome dinner at the rendezvous point, then highlight top areas of interest along the way to the goal destination. The team makes sure the driving times are realistic and plans time for rest as well as group socialization and local tours.

Fantasy RV Tours knows RVers love flexibility, so you are welcome to go off and explore some on your own or visit with loved ones nearby – just let your wagon master and tail gunner (who lead and follow behind the caravan) know if you will be going off route or showing up later.

During the caravan, the RVs are spread out and don’t need to be driving bumper-to-bumper, which makes the experience much more enjoyable. Yet, even if you venture off on your own, you know the rest of the caravan isn’t too far away! This is especially important in remote areas – in case of a medical or RV emergency, you know you’ll have help.

Some of the most popular RV caravan tour destinations include Alaska, Mexico, and the Southwest. Since Fantasy RV tours knows these routes exceptionally well, they can safely accommodate anything from vans to towables to the larger Class A motorhomes!

Upcoming 2022 Tours, Rallies & Caravans for Winnebago Owners

Here are some of the events they have planned exclusively for Winnebago owners in 2022:

• June 16 to 22, 2022: 7-Day Black Hills & Badlands
  • This tour takes you to iconic American monuments in this area of South Dakota, including Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial. You’ll also enjoy a Chuckwagon Dinner and other experiences for an authentic taste of the wild, wild West!
• Sept. 11 to Oct. 5, 2022: 25-Day Sensational Southwest
  • Join a caravan through Arizona and New Mexico, stopping at fascinating landmarks which include the massive Grand Canyon, Arizona Meteor Crater, Sedona, New Mexico’s Cumbres and Toltec Narrow Gauge Railroad, and Santa Fe where the tour ends and is just 63 miles from where the Albuquerque Balloon Rally starts. 
• Sept. 29 to Oct. 5, 2022: 7-Day Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta
  • This annual event to see hot air balloons ascend into the skies of New Mexico is a favorite of WIT members. There will also be planned excursions to Old Town Albuquerque, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, and more.
• Oct. 2 to 8, 2022: 7-Day Smoky Mountain Rally
  • Travel through the Appalachian Mountain system in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee while enjoying the beautiful fall foliage. Along the way, enjoy tours of rebuilt Indian villages, settler’s farmsteads, Dollywood, and the Biltmore Estate.

Plus, in 2023, they are already planning a 48-day caravan to Alaska, a 6-day Calgary Stampede rally in Alberta, Canada, and a 34-day adventure to the Atlantic Provinces of Canada!
