Winnebago Connect™ FAQs
Winnebago Connect is a first-of-its-kind, intelligent RV platform that proactively monitors and controls on-board RV systems according to user preferences. From smart energy optimization and one-touch settings to real-time remote diagnostics and over-the-air software updates, Winnebago Connect simplifies vehicle operations, making it easier than ever to use an RV.
If an RV is equipped with Winnebago Connect, users may access the technology through both a touch screen in the coach and the Winnebago mobile app.
In any RV equipped with Winnebago Connect, the technology will monitor and control major RV systems, including lighting; climate; energy management; refrigeration; water systems; awnings; slide-outs; and cabin door locks. When users pair their phone to Winnebago Connect, they gain remote access to these capabilities while in range of the vehicle. They also can customize specific tasks, such as retracting the awning when the motion sensor detects windy conditions, and perform local diagnostics to troubleshoot any complications. This level of service, called “Winnebago Connect Essentials,” is free.
With a paid “Premium” or “Premium + Wi-Fi” subscription to Winnebago Connect, customers can take advantage of even more features of the technology, including remote access through the Winnebago mobile app anywhere cell phone coverage exists. An active subscription ensures users receive periodic software updates over-the-air, and the delivery of more capabilities over time. Additionally, it enables Winnebago’s service team to address and troubleshoot issues through remote diagnostics, elevating the entire customer support experience.

Winnebago Connect is the first SMART technology platform that manages on-board systems, making it easier than ever to own and operate an RV. No other product on the market can control coach features with one system. Winnebago developed this proprietary technology based on feedback from owners with the goal of addressing their needs and continuously optimizing the RV ownership experience.
Winnebago Connect features a wide array of benefits, including quick owner onboarding, real-time vehicle monitoring, intuitive control of RV systems and features, and immediate service solutions.
With Winnebago Connect, owners gain access to step-by-step video tutorials, searchable help topics and easy-to-follow checklists, all from their smartphone. Owners gain additional peace of mind knowing that new Winnebago Connect features and fixes are transmitted through Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates, so they always have the latest tools in hand to optimize their experience on the road.
Meanwhile, a built-in system of self-diagnostics ensures Winnebago Connect operates optimally and efficiently at all times. At the same time, telemetry, or data off-boarding, gives Winnebago insight into how owners use products, which helps detect issues early and diagnose problems without the need for in-person service. Thanks to remote diagnostics and support, though, users can count on a speedy service experience if they ever need it.
Winnebago Connect also makes life on the road more convenient with in-coach WiFi that leverages a dual-carrier solution, providing better coverage and performance than anything else on the RV market today.
Winnebago Connect will initially debut in the all-new Winnebago View® and Navion® before launching in the entire Winnebago line-up over the next few years.
In addition to Winnebago Connect, the upscale View and Navion feature lithium power, redesigned luxury interiors, all-new spacious gear garages and an optional Mercedes-Benz® all-wheel-drive Sprinter chassis, among many other state-of-the-art amenities.
The anticipated launch timing is the summer of 2024.
Winnebago Connect uses a dual-carrier solution with leading providers Verizon and AT&T, both of which provide strong coverage. Winnebago Connect will automatically switch to the best-performing network to ensure continuous, optimal service.
Yes. Starlink can easily connect to the hardware built into an RV equipped with Winnebago Connect. By connecting Starlink to the RV system, users will gain access to all of the features of a Winnebago Connect Premium subscription.
No. The base Premium plan doesn’t provide a local Wi-Fi network that would allow a phone connection.
Yes. The Winnebago mobile app, which connects to a user’s phone and RV, is available both through the Apple® App Store or Google Play™ Store.
You can use your own data plans through your phone or mobile hotspots as a way to connect your coach to the internet. Simply connect the RV to the exterior Wi-Fi network that your device broadcasts. This will unlock most premium features, such as far-field controls and over-the-air software updates. Using this method as opposed to one of the Winnebago subscription options, however, will limit your ability to get full remote servicing support, and may limit the geographic coverage, depending on your plan.
All Winnebago Connect subscriptions are paid month-to-month. Users can pause or cancel the plan at any time.
Winnebago takes data security very seriously. We’ve completed third-party testing to validate that Winnebago Connect is secure and will keep user data, including vehicle location and credit card information, safe.
The app tracks vehicle location data to help users find their RV when returning from an excursion. However, users can opt out of location tracking if they prefer. Credit card information that users provide for paid services is protected through a secured site run by Winnebago partner Zeho.
Download the Winnebago mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Launch the app, set-up an account, and connect your vehicle to your profile. Follow the instructions inside the app to get started. Once you do that, your complimentary first-year Premium subscription will automatically activate.
Just go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search for “Winnebago App” and click “Install.”
Winnebago Connect text notifications appear on smart watches, however it is not currently possible to manage the technology through smartwatches.
All major credit cards are accepted.
You do not need to insert or replace any SIM cards. The SIM cards are built into the system and can be activated or deactivated through the Winnebago “Subscriptions” feature found in the Winnebago mobile app.
